Pertosa, the center of tourism and agriculture, lies at the foot of the mountains Alburni, on the right-Tanagro River. The element that more than any other marks the appearance of its territory is the dominant presence of a luxuriant nature and drawn-birds, fueled by the presence of thousands of years that has always favored the development of intensive production activities, particularly in the textile, paper and hydroelectric. Even today, nell'isolotto river at the foot of Mount carved in the ruins of a windmill near Cave dell'Angelo, are visible traces of this ancient fervor productive.
Nature is the evocative setting for beautiful places like the waterfall and Maremanico Gorges of Watson, and also for various trekking routes, including the so-called "Way of" on-line Pertosa Auletta-Petina, and the trail traveling the high road to Monte Cervati. Pertosa Today is a very vibrant city in terms of production and culture. In addition to the complex of caves speleologico dell'Angelo, are of particular interest Museums Integrated Environment - MIDA, with important geological sections and a Center for Studies on post-earthquake.
