A Ravello, David Herbert Lawrence wrote several chapters of L'lover of Lady Chatterley and nonconformist writer André Gide Parisian environment part of his novel The immorality.
Finally, one can not fail to mention Paul Valery and Graham Greene, Tennessee Williams, Rafael Alberti and Gore Vidal. Among the statesmen, Einaudi, Kennedy, Mitterrand, De Gasperi and Togliatti. And among the actors: Greta Garbo, Humphrey Bogart, Paul Newman, Peter O'Toole, Robert De Niro and many others.

Boccaccio speaks of the Amalfi Coast as the "... most delightful part of Italy ... ... a coast full of small towns ... of gardens and fountains ... among which the city is one call Ravello. "
