Departure from Salerno to the archaeological site of Paestum, one of the main centers of Ancient Greece, and excavation characterized by the three Greek temples, the so-called Basilica and so-called Temple of Poseidon and Athena built between 550 and 450 BC, all still visible well preserved.
The oldest traces of human settlement date back to the Paleolithic in Paestum as well as evidence relating to the Bronze Age.
The city was founded around 600 BC, when Greek colonists from Sybaris founded the city of Posidonia, and built the largest sanctuary of Hera (Hera).
At the end of the fifth century BC the city was conquered by Lucan, under which experienced a period of prosperity and reached its greatest territorial expansion and became known as Paistom, while just under Roman rule in 273 BC, the city became a colony of the Romans, and the name He changed forever in Paestum.
09:00 am Departure from the established point, meeting with staff Salerno Incoming and arriving in Paestum with a visit to the Mozzarella Factory, dedicated to the Biological Husbandry farms buffaloes.
The visit to the Factory includes the observation of the steps of production of Mozzarella with a duration of about 1h.
After the experience natural pass to the history of the archaeological area with three wonderful temples that date back to VII BC and the Museum which houses objects and artifacts from the ancient city of Ancient Greece Posidonia. He then returns at the dairy farm for a Stop to appreciate the delicacies Lunch Bufalinas and territory Pestano.
